Paint It White: What White?

I wanted to paint my white walls. How do you drive? You go to the paint store, buy a few l and the strike.

I did this first part: I went to a paint store. But when told the dealer I needed white paint, took this letter colors opens like a fan to reveal six hundred different shades of white and throws in a full panic attack. (I never responded well to a multitude of options.)

"Can we reduce to, say, the more creamy?" I asked. The salesman licked his fingers and closed about a third of the wheel of panic, and I left with only about 400 decisions. I grew a shade pale white and moisture came from my armpits. Was clearly too much for me.

I went home and launched a large-scale obsession. I asked friends and relatives of his thoughts on white paint. I visited my neighbor on the pretext of obtaining a can opener and secured the name of your paint color. I called a hotel where he had once admired the walls of the room. I asked the bookseller, the neurologist, the florist, no matter where I saw a good white, I asked someone what it was. I went online, did some social networking has taken the brains of people who do not know.

When I finally met a group of candidates of color, the wall of my dining room became a patchwork of samples, I have checked at different times of day the light moved.

I also painted the colors on a white board and Bristol samples leads from room to room. I make the decisions Reserved the painter, panicked and UN-booked him. I threw away rejected colors, then in a frenzy of uncertainty, re-bought for another look.

Segui all this illegal activity under the radar of my husband, then would not have committed. I finally have a few options, and worked well, if not perfection. (A room suffered through two second-hand.)

I propose a list of my options at the top of the wall paint in white (which in reality are almost-but-not-quite white) from a variety of manufacturers. This will save you weeks of trial and error, time better spent mastering the tango, buying a new hose, or write your congressman. (If I write to please ask him what color she painted her bathroom.)

Benjamin Moore ($ 20 – $ 50 per gallon)
I used both "Oatmeal" and "White Linen", the latter being more yellow, old, well, Oaty, but the two colors of Nice. "Swiss Coffee" is another I used, which is like a white with little espresso. "Alabaster" BM is a good color of the upholstery, too.

Donald Kaufman ($ 90 per gallon USA)
"# 28" is a beautiful creamy white to my sister – brother has everything at home. I was too cheap to buy, but DK's paint is incredible, more like light than paint, so you can splurge in a room or two.

Farrow & Ball ($ 70 per gallon)
This manufacturer makes my favorite colors, which all have names of inspiration. It is expensive, so I just use the "Partners" in my office alone, but if I had to splurge, We also opted for "Satin Slipper" or "Clunch" colors that inspire interesting conversation.

YOLO (U.S. $ 40 per gallon)
If you are in eco-friendly, these are non-toxic paints, low VOC, and Air.02 white Air.01 are precious.

Restoration Hardware ($ 32 – $ 36 per gallon)
"Mediterranean White" and options "butter" are good and reasonably priced, and "The White Law" is perfect for packing.
